Consulting Projects Manager, Dallas
Growing up in Austin, Leila learned at an early age about the importance of philanthropy. Her great-grandparents were instrumental in starting a school in her hometown after seeing a need in the community for additional education options. With the school still in operation, her parents and grandparents have continued to find fulfillment as community volunteers, serving on multiple boards for various nonprofit organizations. They are true mentors to Leila, continually emphasizing the importance of philanthropy and the value of giving back.
Attending the University of Mississippi, better known as Ole Miss, Leila knew she wanted a career that could allow her to continue her family’s practice of giving back to others while simultaneously capitalizing on her skills and interests. While working on her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management and minor in Business Administration, Leila interned at the United Way of Oxford & Lafayette County. It was here she was able to see the back office operations of a nonprofit organization and just how she could apply her degree; planning and coordinating major events for nonprofit institutions.
Prior to joining Dini Spheris, Leila spent several years at the Texas State History Museum Foundation serving as their events and outreach coordinator and later a role as interim director. While at the Texas State History Museum Foundation, Leila gained experience in a broad range of functions — from orchestrating fundraising events to day-to-day operations, and even working directly with the Foundation’s volunteer leadership to raise more than $1 million. A highly motivated self-starter, Leila brings a relentless attention to detail and enthusiasm to her Dini Spheris clients every day.
